Update 14th March 2010
Guys,
Now that we have the Dubai Football 7s out of the way, we are full steam ahead for the remaining part of the 11 a side season. As we approach Easter, can any teams let me know asap if your team has any problems with particular dates.
Looking ahead, we will be changing the format slightly for the Summer 7s League, to make it a little more flexible for teams wishing to compete;
Starting on Monday May 10th (Mondays for lower level division teams, Wednesdays for higher level division teams, all games between 8pm-10pm), the first section will be an 8 week tournament, with each team seeded and playing in a 5 team division. Cost per team for this 8 week tournament will be 1800dhs.
Each team will play 2 games (of 8 mins each way - 16 mins each game) per night. After 2 weeks (when each team has played each other in the division, promotion/relegation will take place, with the top two and bottom two teams moving to an upper/lower division.
The team at the top of division 1 at the end of 8 weeks wins it, with the 2nd place spot taking runners up.
The 2nd Summer 7s section will start in July, as a 6 week tournament, with a cost of 1400dhs, but on the same basis as above.
I'm sure you all agree that this will make for an interesting, flexible format that allows teams to quickly find their 'level' and play weekly games against opposition that is as closely matched as possible.
Any enquiries, please email to dean@dalfootball.com

Winter 11 a side League Update 2009-10.
An important rule change will take place for the new season, affecting clubs with 2 or more teams:
A maximum of 2 players will be allowed to be on the team sheet from a clubs alternate team's last game.
For Safa and the Vets, this rule extends further:
They will not be able to have players playing in Div 3 from the last Div 1 fixture and vice versa - a Safa or Vets player will only be allowed to step up and down ONE division from each fixture.
